Questions
These are a small sample of questions our clients have asked. Please check back often as we regularly add to this list.
Show money is not a visa application or interview requirement. The financial information provided on the visa application is sufficient for the interview. However, when traveling, all countries including the US may ask for proof (show money) for your visit but that is upon entry into the country. The show money should be sufficient to cover your stay (food, lodging, and travel). Credit and Bank cards are widely accepted in the US and could suffice for most of your show money. Remember it is never a good idea to travel with large quantities of cash.
Medical exams are not required for US and most other Tourist Visas.
US Citizens can sponsor an immigrant, but sponsorship could jeopardize your visa approval. When possible, it is best to self-sponsor. The purpose of a tourist visa is to tour it is not intended as a means of visiting family. Having family in the US makes it a little more difficult to prove that you intend to return to your country. Immigration officials refer to this as having close country ties. Without demonstrating close ties, it is less likely that your application will be approved. If sponsorship is still your preference, we recommend you contact us and after understanding your situation we can suggest the best way to proceed. Remember, every person and every case is different.
Once you submit DS-160 to book the appointment, you cannot edit the information on DS-160. Remember the answers on the DS160 form must be accurate and truthful. If your current DS160 is not accurate or truthful is in your very best interest to submit a new DS160 application. Of course, this means you will have to pay another fee and will get a later interview date. This is an excellent reason to hire us at US Filipino Visa Consultants to complete your application. We will take the information from you and complete and submit your form.
If you qualify for a tourist visa, you can travel anywhere within most countries including the US. So you can visit whomever but I do not advise that being your primary reason and do not recommend you volunteer that information.
We get questions like this all the time, especially for US visa applicants. The Filipino family culture of caring for family members is different in the US and seeking a tourist visa to care for a sick or even dying family member is not a prime reason to grant a US tourist visa.
Not knowing your full situation, but based on just the information provided, yes you have a reasonable chance. The type of business, the business longevity may satisfy your close country ties requirement. Your past travels will be helpful. However, neither of these is a guarantee of approval. If you would like more help, please schedule a phone consultation to review your specific situation. Afterwards we can advise you on how best to proceed.
US Visa fee is $185. There are no additional fees if you complete and submit the application yourself. In comparison to other agencies, we charge a very small fee to complete your application and give you the peace of mind that it is correct.
Complete the DS 160 form. Pay the fee and schedule the interview.
This is considered a gray area. You could answer no because they are not blood relatives, or you could answer yes. Listing your US citizen family on the application will always raise the question of your intent to remain in the US. Therefore, I would recommend you answer no if they are the only family members you have to list on the DS160, but if you have to list other family member we recommend you list them because there is likely no impact and removes the risk of having to explain.
You may apply immediately but you will most likely be rejected unless you have had a significant change in your life that now favors approval. My advice is to schedule a phone consultation to review your original application, reasons for rejection, and your current situation.
